Job Title:                     Painter / Decorator

Reporting to:               Maintenance Supervisor

Accountable to:           Property Manager

Painter and Decorator required for unique role within vibrant care Homes.

This role requires a skilled Painter / Decorator with multi-skills to work across the estate of 12 homes mainly in the Stockport area.  You will always have health and safety at the forefront of your mind while working in and around our residents.  The role is permanent role allows the right candidate with the correct skills to make a difference to people who live and work in our care homes. 

Role Outline:

Undertake a rolling programme of repainting the communal areas in all our homes.

KEY TASKS OF THE POST:

  • Work in cooperation with the home manager and staff to plan the safety of the residents while the works take place
  • Manage the Health and Safety around the residents and staff while the works take place
  • Redecorating all communal areas in the homes on a rolling programme as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor and Property Manager
  • Redecorate the communal areas in a prompt and safe manner
  • Manage own work to maintain the agreed time schedules
  • Ensure that furniture, fixtures, and fittings are not damaged or marked while redecoration works take place
  • Undertake minor maintenance repair work associated with the role as required to complete the redecoration of the homes.
  • Redecorate the bedrooms and other areas as required by the Property Manager

Industry expectations:

  • The candidate must be able to demonstrate previous experience of painting in a commercial environment and or hold trade qualifications
  • Demonstrate the ability to work under pressure to complete the work in a speedy and safe manner
  • Understand and demonstrate the importance of Health and Safety in the workplace
  • Comply with organisational safety, policies, and procedures
  • Familiarity with Fire Safety regulations

The successful candidate will undergo an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) Check

Travel is involved for which purpose the applicant must have the use of a car all week and hold a current full, driving licence.  Candidates must be willing to carry several small tools between sites in their vehicle.  The candidate must hold business travel insurance for their vehicle.  For which a payment is made within a mileage allowance.  A company van is available to carry heavy and large materials and tools between sites
