The home is divided into four calm, cosy neighbourhoods, each with its own dining area and lounge, helping to create a strong sense of community. Beautifully furnished bedrooms include en-suite wet rooms and TV points for comfort and privacy. From pamper sessions in the beauty salon and coffee in the café to film nights in the cinema, life at Shoemaker Place offers plenty of opportunities to relax and enjoy each day.

Claire has dedicated four decades to the care sector, beginning her journey as a Support Worker in 1986 and her passion for delivering exceptional care remains as strong as ever.

Throughout her career, Claire has seen the care profession evolve, but her priorities have never changed: ensuring every resident feels safe, happy, valued and truly at home. She believes that outstanding care starts with outstanding people, recognising that staff are the heart of any successful home.

Claire is committed to creating a supportive and positive environment where colleagues and residents feel respected, valued and empowered to thrive. Leading with compassion, respect and unwavering dedication, she is proud to be Home Manager at Shoemaker Place, working closely with residents, families and colleagues to create a home where every individual can enjoy a rich, fulfilling lifestyle and truly experience life in colour.

I never knew it was so much fun living in a care home!

Resident Shoemaker Place

Mum moved from a previous care home which was akin to a cheap B&B compared to Shoemakers 4/5 star hotel feel. All staff make mum feel very comfortable and are very encouraging to ensure she eats properly, joins in with other residents and spends as much time as possible in the residents lounge and not isolating in her room. It’s all so reassuring to me.
