This week at Borough Care – Showing support for Remembrance Sunday

By 15 November 2021Borough Care News

This week, our homes celebrated Remembrance Day by showing their support for those who paid the ultimate price. From wreath-making to floral window displays, it’s been a brilliant week of remembrance here at Borough Care.

We will remember them

In honour of Remembrance Sunday, Cawood House residents paid their respects to those who sacrificed so much. ALF (Activity Lifestyle Facilitator), Leigh Cherie, laid a wreath at the Stockport War Memorial on behalf of all residents at Cawood House. Here are some lovely shots of the residents and Leigh laying the wreath, which reads “Remember our fallen. We will never forget.”

Floral displays

Along with Cawood House, Silverdale also honoured Remembrance Day by creating some beautiful floral crafts. Each of the residents made their own poppies, which were then gathered together to create a lovely table centrepiece! They also drew poppies to go on display in the windows and were very kindly donated knitted poppies to wear.

Together again

After a long month in isolation, the residents at Reinbek have finally been able to get together and have some fun. On Tuesday, they enjoyed a few rounds of bingo and on Wednesday they had a fun afternoon of armchair exercises. All the residents had a good giggle and a sing-a-long to some ‘50s tunes. It was lovely to get them all together after such a hard month!

See you next week!
