This week at Borough Care – seasons greetings & singing songs

By 26 November 2021Borough Care News

As we’re approaching the most wonderful time of the year, residents across some of our homes have started to get into the seasonal spirit this week. Along with all the festive fun, we’ve also been celebrating birthdays in style and making plans for an exciting fundraising event. Let’s take a look at all of the fun!

‘Tis the season

Silverdale residents have been getting in the festive spirit over the last week by taking some Christmassy photos. Their brilliant ALFs (Activity and Lifestyle Facilitators) organised a photoshoot so that every resident could make a Christmas card to send to their relatives!

The ALFs set up a seasonal backdrop that had an image of a cosy fireplace, with stockings hanging off it, and had each of the residents sit in front of it. To ensure that the residents were feeling as festive as possible, they each had a choice of hats to wear for the photoshoot. They all ended the day with a delicious glass of sherry and a great sing-along!

Putting on a show

At Lisburne Court, residents were treated to a live performance to celebrate Pauline’s birthday. Sam, the singer, put on a fantastic show and it certainly looks like everyone had a great time!

Elf Day

Next Friday, residents at Cawood House will be celebrating Elf Day by raising money for the Alzheimer’s Society. Elf Day encourages you to embrace your inner elf by dressing up and spreading the festive cheer – all for a good cause. To honour Elf Day, Cawood House will be hosting a seriously fun-filled day. They’ll be organising an elf hunt, creating elf-themed arts and crafts, and much more!

Find out more about what they have planned here. If you’d like to support Cawood House and the Alzheimer’s Society this Elf Day, you can donate to their JustGiving page

See you next time
