This week at Borough Care – crafts & a special birthday

By 20 December 2021Borough Care News

With just one week to go until Christmas, there’s plenty of festive fun happening across our homes. This week, residents have been getting crafty by making some personalised holiday decorations, and we celebrated a very special birthday. Shall we check it out?

A birthday fit for a queen

This week, Reinbek celebrated a very significant birthday as resident Mary Prescot turned 100! To mark the special occasion, Mary received a birthday card from the Queen herself. The wonderful team at Reinbek organised a birthday cake for Mary and the residents, as well as a live performance from entertainer Paul Earl. To finish off the day in true birthday style, everyone enjoyed a glass of bubbly!

Christmas card craftin’

Reinbek residents also spent a lovely afternoon designing their own personalised Christmas cards. Whilst they were getting their craft on, they each enjoyed a warm mince piece with cream and a glass of Bailey’s – delicious!

Irene and Elizabeth, residents at Lisburne Court, also explored their craft-making skills by decorating the home’s festive wreath. Here are a few photos of Irene posing with the wreath – they both did a fantastic job!

Seasonal sweets

After a hard day’s work making seasonal decorations, the team at Lisburne Court put together a festive buffet that featured a reindeer-themed cake, along with a sweets trolley full of everyone’s favourite sweet treats!

Sports, spice and all things nice

Alongside all of the festive fun, Lisburne Court also found time to play netball. A few of the residents gathered in the lounge to work up a sweat playing a few rounds of the game.

See you next time

What a brilliant week! We’ve loved taking a peek inside the festivities across our homes this week and can’t wait to see what else our residents get up to soon. To stay up to date with the Borough Care news, make sure to follow us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
