Supporting Stonewall through Pride parties

Borough Care is a strong supporter of the LGBTQ+ community. To us, being an ally doesn’t mean swapping our logos on social media every once and a while. We want to actively celebrate Pride and empower LGBTQ+ residents, families and staff to be authentically themselves.

Our partnership with Stonewall

Last weekend, a couple of our homes threw Pride parties to show support of our partner, Stonewall.

Stonewall has been a driving force for change for the LGBTQ+ communities in the UK for the last 30 years. From running campaigns to holding events, Stonewall is always looking for ways to help LGBTQ+ people to thrive.

Bringing Pride to our homes

Over the weekend, a few of our homes held Pride parties for both staff and residents to enjoy. There was music, dressing up and lots of dancing. Bamford Close had a drag show to entertain its residents. At Wellcroft, residents enjoyed some songs from Geoff.

They also enjoyed some treats, including a rainbow cake from Beanie’s Bakes and delicious cupcakes made by the staff. Wellcroft enjoyed a full feast of tasty party food.

Cawood House enjoyed some karaoke, as well as dressing up in rainbow beads and leis. Some residents sported some colourful temporary tattoos.

Marjorie and Minnie enjoyed a dance under the rainbow bunting.

Our staff also made sure to get into the spirit of pride by dressing up.

Living life in colour

We hope you enjoyed seeing what our residents got up to at the Pride parties. We’re so proud to support Stonewall and are continuing to explore how to be the best ally we can be.
