As Borough Care continues its journey to become a true ally of the LGBTQ+ community, we are celebrating, raising awareness and holding a variety of activities across the homes, marking the 17th year of LGBT History Month..
Our ‘One in a Million’ staff awards came with a difference in 2020. Ordinarily, we would all come together to celebrate but given Covid-19 restrictions, staff and residents kept to their homes to have their own knees up, so we could honour the very best examples of our teams’ hard work and dedication to care.
My role at Borough Care is to make sure all of our residents are looked after, and all their needs are met. I assist them to get up in the morning, wash, get dressed and all the things we often take for granted that we can do for ourselves.

Stockport-based Borough Care has been finding new ways to keep loved ones in touch with residents across its eleven care homes, as Covid-19 continues to keep families apart. The not-for-profit organisation has been conducting safe and socially distanced window visits for residents to catch up with their loved ones face to face.
